Why should I pay extra for custom tailoring if I am a perfect rack size?
The most expensive pieces of clothing you will ever own are the ones you don't wear. Well-constructed, timeless business wear endures and should be evaluated as would any other investment: the true cost of any garment is what you paid for it divided by the number of wearings. That being said, we have an excellent selection of fine cloth at the same prices that people are spending on off-the-rack all down the east coast! A custom-tailored wardrobe selected from hundreds of the world's finest fabrics is one that you will wear and enjoy more. We are a local company with the expertise to compete with any clothing in the world for style, fit, and quality of material and workmanship. We only have one quality: the best.

The Elegant Consulting "5-Year Guarantee."
This means that when I deliver your suits or sport coats to you...if they are not the best clothes you have ever bought, you can return it to me...even if it's only been a month, and get 100% of your money back. This is guaranteed in writing, good for 5 years from the date of delivery, and presented on delivery of your order.

What can you do for me that I can't get from a regular store?
The bulk of a retail store's business comes from off the rack. They have money invested in inventory that they need to sell. Made-to-measure orders and specials will never be a priority to the store or the manufacturer, only an accommodation, and even then the work is usually sent off to a factory. Although we carry off the rack, we do not have an inventory. The trained eye of a tailor can never be duplicated via fax or the U.S. mail. In addition, we save you time by coming right to your office for selection, fittings and alterations.

What should I consider when choosing a clothier?
Reputation, quality, length of time in business, experience, look of the suit, selection, service and philosophy. A top-quality clothier understands and cares about what you want your clothing to say about you. When we make recommendations, we take into account the height and body of a client. Since the construction always remains perfect, the kind of cloth becomes important. So for a big man with a large girth, we may recommend ony a Super 110's cloth or alternately, a Dormeuil fabric because they are heavier and can hide more. Someone who is 6' 4" and thin would probably be recommended a very fine cloth...maybe a high thread count (less width,) because of the way that kind of fabric hangs on you.

How long does it take to get measured and pick out the fabric? How soon after that will my suit be finished?
With established customers we are usually in and out in no more than 30 minutes. For your first visit, allow about an hour: 20 minutes to take measurements for suits and shirts; 30 minutes to select the style and choose the fabric; and about 10 minutes for paperwork. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks to complete an order.

What other items do you carry?
Knit sweaters, golf shirts, belts, socks, and fine neckwear.

What brands do you carry?
Everything we carry is individually tailored for a specific customer. The name that goes into the suit is the name of the person for whom it was made. Fabrics range from Loro Piana to Canali.

What is your price range?
Custom suits start at around $799 to $3000. Custom shirts start at $130 to $275. Readymade suits start at $499 to $799. Sportcoats are two-thirds the price of a suit; trousers run about one-third the price of a suit. Tuxedos are $100 to $200 more than a suit for the silk facing. Topcoats are the same price as suits. Ties average $85.

Where are these clothes made?
Every custom suit, shirt, jacket, and trouser that we sell is made in Hong Kong and China BUT the fabrics come from Italy, Australia, Scotland, Belgium and England.

Do I have to get re-measured every time I pick something out? Also, my weight tends to fluctuate. What about alterations?
Once we have your measurements on file, re-orders are a snap. All you have to do is select the cloth. Need six sea-island white shirts? We will pull your pattern and have your inventory back up in 3 to 4 weeks. With us, you'll have no problem with shipping delays. We hand deliver the clothing right to you in your home or office. We will alter anything we have made for you in two weeks. Outside alterations sometimes take longer, depending on current volume.

I'm uncomfortable about ordering clothing that has not yet been made. What if I'm not completely satisfied with my purchase?
We will crawl on our hands and knees from our store with scissors in hand to make the corrections. Okay, that is a slight exaggeration ... but we will do whatever it takes to make you happy. We know how to treat our customers and we do the right thing.
